Learning English – from kindergarten to schooldays

Nowadays in every family – mother and father, grandmothers and grandfathers want their children to know and to study English language. The reasons for it may be different – English became the most popular and fancy language in the world, it helps to do with the technical equipment, to communicate with the residence of other countries, tourists from the different corners of the world and let alone that it is the “official language of the whole planet”.

Day by day the situation becomes more different and the knowledge of foreign language, particularly of English, is not only stylish and fashionable but just necessary. There are a lot of possibilities to study it. And why for some of us the teaching process is so hard and boring? Some claims on “non-propensity for languages”, some on the lack of talent to learn it, but the only problem is in wrong method of studying. Everybody has a study potential, everybody can do it, the most important is the correct approach to it.

Language – is the most significant mean for human communication, without which it can’t be the development of society. Expanding and deepening of the international relations, integration of all the spheres of life make the foreign languages solicited in practical and real human activity. This stands as a driving force of economical, political and scientific-and-technological advance of humanity and essentially improve the level of Foreign Language as educational subject and serves like motivation to study.

Due to the aspects given above, modern education is to emphasize on cognitive development of learners, forms not only inner motive but also is a good impulse for getting education. The major task is not to teach pupils to study, but to thirst for studying. To promote cognitive interest the specialized and considered approach is needed and also the cooperation of all educational institutes.

From the kindergarten the first key role in the child’s life has been played by parents. It stands as a “ruling of inner world, motives and stimulus formation” of the child, that is it helps in the creation of those merits which answer for living position and activity of the future personality. And the necessary is the cooperation between school (kindergarten, Institute) and family. They have to supplement each other and to help learners in self-actualization.

The studying process is quite different, you need to take into account all the aspects of modern world, rhythm of life and its characteristic features. Further we must to accent on the most typical English studying problems:

  1. Perfectionism. Learning is hard for pupil, because he (she) starts to overdo it. Even a native speaker doesn’t know the language perfectly, doesn’t care on grammar rules and even speaks with an accent. But the child can’t stop hearing all the foreign songs, seeing films. It is called the complex of “not knowing the language”.
  2. 2.    With the problem №1 can help a qualified pedagogue but unfortunately it is not available for everyone – this is the second problem.
  3. 3.    Lets remember how we don’t like those hated grammar rules which we forget immediately after finishing school. So English is not an exception – you need also to learn boring rules and many can’t stand and give up studying arguing it by the lack of time and others. Though the only reason is – not so interesting and not so useful grammar.
  4. 4.    Another one hindrance is that we think our native language and then translate the words into foreign language, then confront with grammar rules and at last speak the whole sentence. But it is too tiresome for human. So we have to try think and speak English immediately. That is how little children learn to speak a mother tongue, they like absorb the language. And they don’t know grammar rules. The theory they will comprehend later. Maybe this is too difficult for someone, but such methods do exist.

The main is communication, not the theory. Every pedagogue has its own secrets and teaching skills. The number one is to find out the right method to the problem which will overcome all the ills. You need to form and stimulate to know foreign languages from the kindergarten when child stars its creative and speech activity. Exactly in childhood everything the most important and basic is formed.
